It is used to reduce LDL-cholesterol apolipoprotein B and triglycerides

and to increase HDL-cholesterol in the treatment of hyperlipidemia,

combined hyperlipidemia and primary dysbetalipoproteinemia as adjunct

therapy in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia who have some LDL-recpetor function.
